🇨🇦 Two correctional officers dead, and Ottawa will still call this a functioning system
Two officers and one inmate are dead during a prison transfer from the Edmonton Institution, and the public gets the usual sterile notice while officials hide behind process and condolences. That is not order. That is state failure with a government letterhead. The bare facts, as reported, are bad enough. What they really expose is a regime obsessed with optics, equity seminars and bureaucratic messaging while the people tasked with maintaining basic security are left inside a decaying apparatus.
This is the Trudeau-era pattern in miniature: institutions hollowed out, frontline authority treated as an embarrassment, and public safety managed like a branding exercise. Corrections, policing, borders, bail, same script every time. The managerial class loves lecturing Canadians about compassion and inclusion, right up until another preventable disaster leaves working officers dead. A sovereign country protects its own people first and backs the men enforcing order, instead of feeding them into a broken machine and calling it progress.
