🇨🇦 670 square kilometres on fire, and the state still calls this management
Two wildfires north of Clinton merged, crossed Highway 97, and ballooned to nearly 670 square kilometres, as reported. This is what governing by press release looks like: endless climate sermonizing, endless carbon taxes, and somehow less actual resilience on the ground. Ottawa can micromanage your pickup truck and home furnace, but keeping critical corridors protected in a fire-prone province is apparently too much to ask.
The real Canadian story is national decay disguised as virtue. Governments love global climate theatre because it lets them posture at Davos while basic state capacity rots at home. B.C. residents get smoke, road threats, and another reminder that ideological governance is useless when the country needs competence, infrastructure, and serious land management. Trudeau-era politics trained every institution to perform morality instead of doing the boring sovereign work of protecting Canadians, their roads, and their communities.
