🇨🇦 Human rights museum trips over its own propaganda
A museum built to preach universal morality suddenly forgets context the moment it becomes politically fashionable. Gail Asper says her family is freezing support over a Nakba exhibit that leaves out the 1947 UN partition rejection, Hamas being listed as a terrorist entity in Canada, and the expulsion of roughly 850,000 Jews from Arab countries, as reported. The family was set to donate $50,000 to a Holocaust exhibit, but apparently the curators had no room for inconvenient facts in their tiny morality play.
This is the Trudeau-era institutional formula in miniature: taxpayer-backed national institutions repackaged as activist seminar rooms, where narrative beats truth and omission counts as curation. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights was supposed to elevate civic understanding, not launder ideological messaging through state prestige. When a so-called national museum starts slicing history to fit the approved progressive script, it is not defending human rights. It is eroding public trust, national cohesion, and the last scraps of institutional credibility.
