Classic Ottawa logic: slash barriers for foreign goods while our own farmers, manufacturers, and workers drown under carbon taxes, regulation, housing inflation, and energy sabotage. The regime cannot make Canada competitive, so it stages another photo op and calls it growth.

This is the Trudeau-era formula in one neat package: hollow out domestic production, brag about global integration, and pretend sovereignty is old-fashioned. Free trade is not a religion; it is supposed to serve the national interest. If Canadian producers are being kneecapped by their own government, opening the gate wider is not strategy, it is managed decline with a bilingual press release.
