🇨🇦 Kingston stop added to the $90 billion fantasy
A Crown corporation CEO says Kingston will probably get a stop because public feedback was persuasive. That is how Canada now plans a 1,000-kilometre, 300 km/h rail boondoggle priced at $60 billion to $90 billion, as reported. Not national strategy, not hard economics, not sovereignty-first infrastructure. Just political choreography for mayors, ministers and Queen’s students who want a shinier commute.
Martin Imbleau, Steven MacKinnon and Mark Carney are selling prestige-project vapor while landowners along the route warn about devastation and taxpayers get the bill. The same political class that let housing implode, immigration explode and basic infrastructure decay now wants Canadians to clap for an all-electric monument to elite vanity. Pierre Poilievre is right about one thing: these projects metastasize for 15 years and come back at triple cost. Ottawa cannot build affordable homes, secure borders or balance a budget, but apparently it can engineer a European-style status symbol from Toronto to Quebec City. Globalist aesthetics, local disruption, national debt.
