🇨🇦 Six months in hotels while Ottawa waits on a water test
1,700 Canadians from Kashechewan have been displaced for more than six months because the federal government still cannot guarantee safe tap water in a community of 2,300. This is the same Ottawa that can process endless global virtue projects, preach reconciliation, and bankroll every fashionable bureaucracy under the sun, yet basic infrastructure in the North remains Third World by design. As reported, more than 60 people tested positive for cryptosporidium, and 30 per cent of homes had plumbing deficiencies.
The absurd part is that this failure is not new. Kashechewan faces annual flooding, and Ottawa promised in 2019 to relocate the community within 10 years. So far, the grand achievement is $8.4 million for planning studies. Studies, meetings, consultants, delay, repeat. Trudeau-era governance in one neat package: endless spending, zero delivery, and citizens left marinating in hotel rooms while bureaucrats wait another week for lab results. Canada is rich enough to import the world, but apparently not competent enough to provide clean water to its own people.
