🇨🇦 Northern Ontario burns while Ottawa governs by photo op
More communities in northern Ontario are preparing to evacuate, and the usual governing class response is already visible: press releases, moralizing, and absolutely no serious conversation about state capacity. Families in remote communities are packing up while the same political elite that can process endless pet projects somehow cannot guarantee basic wildfire readiness or resilient infrastructure in its own territory, as reported.
This is the Trudeau-era formula in one frame: weaken sovereignty at home, neglect the hinterland, then sermonize about climate virtue once the smoke starts. Northern communities get evacuation orders; Ottawa gets another excuse for grandstanding. Canada is enormous, resource-rich, and fully capable of protecting its own people, yet the managerial class treats the north like a seasonal afterthought unless there is a camera nearby. A serious country would invest in access, emergency response, forestry management, and local capacity. Our rulers prefer symbolism, bureaucracy, and the smug fantasy that hashtags count as governance.
