🇨🇦 Majority of Canadians support both pipelines, but Alberta-B.C. project is favoured: poll
So the public is ahead of the political class again. A poll shows 63 per cent support for the Alberta-B.C. pipeline and 55 per cent for Alberta-Ontario, with even B.C. backing the western route at 62 per cent, as reported. For two decades, activists, bureaucrats, and climate priests sold pipeline resistance as moral enlightenment. Turns out Canadians still prefer jobs, markets outside the U.S., and an economy that functions over elite therapy sessions about renewables.
The funniest part is watching Ottawa try to straddle both worlds. Mark Carney is out defending climate priorities while the country he governs still understands that oil pays the bills and sovereignty requires infrastructure. Even after hearing anti-pipeline arguments, support for the Alberta-B.C. line rose. That should tell you everything about the gap between media-manufactured consensus and actual national interest. Quebec predictably drags its feet, the Bloc keeps sermonizing, and the managerial class keeps pretending growth and energy security are somehow extremist positions. Canadians are a lot less globalist than their rulers.
