🇨🇦 From 20 fires to 115 in three days, and Ottawa still governs like weather is a press release
B.C. went from roughly 20 active wildfires on Wednesday to about 115 by Saturday, with 77 in the last 24 hours and two-thirds out of control, as reported. The official line is 4,000 lightning strikes, end of story. Fine. Lightning starts fires. But the real Canadian story is a state that loves managing narratives more than land, infrastructure, or preparedness. Evacuation orders for 575 properties, 1,740 more on alert, and 399 people on emergency support while governments that can micromanage speech and carbon rituals somehow cannot harden basic resilience.
The most revealing quote came from Boston Bar, where residents openly prefer self-governance over instructions from officials who are not on the ground. Exactly. Ottawa and its provincial subsidiaries excel at centralizing power, then disappear when competence is required. Trudeau-era Canada is all ideology, no capacity: endless DEI sermons, climate theatrics, and bureaucratic sprawl, but when nature hits, ordinary people are left to protect homes, animals, and businesses themselves. Sovereignty starts at home, and this regime cannot even manage that.
