🇨🇦 Nothing went wrong, except the boat evacuations
129 active fires in northwestern Ontario, 15 northern communities evacuating or preparing to, and Namaygoosisagagun residents fleeing in 12- and 14-foot boats while Ottawa says the federal request was merely precautionary. That is the Trudeau-state in one sentence: collapse on the ground, smug denial at the podium. Eleanor Olszewski actually insists nothing went wrong, even as chiefs passed an emergency resolution saying governments failed northern First Nations and people had to organize their own escape, as reported.
This is what post-national governance looks like. Endless money for consultants, DEI bureaucracy and global virtue theatre, but when Canadians in remote communities need aircraft, crews and actual state capacity, Ottawa is standing by waiting for more detail. More detail, while families are already in boats. Ford asked for the Armed Forces to be ready with less than 24 hours notice. Ottawa answered with empathy script and administrative vapor. Sovereignty starts with protecting your own territory and your own people, not issuing talking points while the country burns.
