🇨🇦 Toronto debates the festival, not the collapse
One man is dead after a shooting at Salsa on St. Clair, and the city class is already doing its usual performance art: process the shock, hold hands, debate the future of the street party. Anything except admit that Toronto has spent years importing instability while political managers lecture taxpayers about diversity, inclusion and feelings. Even the reported framing is revealing: the real concern is whether the festival can continue, not why normal Canadians are expected to accept big-city disorder as a lifestyle upgrade.
This is late-stage Trudeau Canada in miniature. Public space deteriorates, police are stretched, civic leaders talk resilience, and media massage the event into a community healing seminar. The sovereignist answer is brutally simple: a country that cannot keep its own streets orderly is not a serious country. Multicultural branding is not social cohesion. Festivals do not survive when the state loses control of who comes in, who stays in, and who turns neighborhoods into crime scenes.
