🇨🇦 Ottawa begs Mexico after selling out Canada
Here’s the punchline: Mark Carney opened Canada’s market to 49,000 Chinese-made EVs a year at a bargain 6.1 per cent tariff, then Anita Anand runs to Mexico for a united front when Washington slaps back on autos. That is not strategy. That is regime-class self-harm dressed up as diplomacy. As reported, Ottawa and Mexico now want to coordinate after the U.S. refused to renew CUSMA on schedule and moved to separate annual reviews.
Of course Washington does not trust this arrangement. Mexico already has Chinese brands like BYD, Chery and MG at up to 19 per cent of its market, and Canada’s geniuses decided to join the loophole economy instead of defending domestic production. Result: a 25 per cent U.S. vehicle tariff, GM shutting Ingersoll, an Oshawa shift gone, Stellantis delaying Brampton. Trudeau-era globalist thinking survives under Carney: sacrifice industrial sovereignty, appease foreign interests, then act shocked when America protects America first. Canada needs Canada first, not another continental sermon from people who cannot even defend our own market.
