🇨🇦 Alberta ranches may count for land-conservation targets, federal minister signals amid impasse with province
So after Ottawa spent months pushing a UN-stamped 30 by 30 land grab, the federal minister suddenly discovers that actual working ranches might count after all. How generous. Alberta was told to swallow Mark Carney’s plan to lock up 1.6-million square kilometres of new land over four years, then lectured about biodiversity by people who treat rural Canada like a management zone. Now, as reported, Julie Dabrusin is impressed that ranchers already know how to care for their own land without federal babysitting.
That is the whole globalist trick in miniature: import a United Nations target, weaponize vague standards, then call it cooperation when provinces beg for exemptions. Alberta says nearly 60 per cent of its land is already protected under its own criteria, but Ottawa’s stricter international framework cuts that to 20 per cent. There’s your scam. The point is not stewardship. The point is control, classification, and federal leverage over land use. Ranchers produce, conserve, and live on the land. Bureaucrats just relabel it and claim a win.
