🇨🇦 Canadians are fed up of 'paying more to receive less,' majority think the government spends too much: poll
The scam is finally too obvious to ignore: 70 per cent say high taxes reduce their standard of living, 66 per cent say subsidies are not worth the cost, and 52 per cent think Ottawa spends too much. Yet the machine still wants more cash, more debt, more programs, more managerial meddling. Even the proposed $25 billion sovereign wealth fund lands like a bad joke when the federal deficit is already projected at $65.4 billion, as reported.
This is the Trudeau-era legacy in one neat package: grocery and housing costs climbing, taxpayers squeezed, and governments acting like confiscation is compassion. Quebec leads at 74 per cent saying the tax burden crushes living standards, with Western Canada at 72 per cent. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of the high-tax, subsidy-addicted consensus. Canadians are not asking for more technocratic experiments or elite virtue spending. They are saying the state is too expensive, too reckless, and far too comfortable treating working people like an endless ATM.
