🇨🇦 Border security, Canadian style: gangs get insider help
Hundreds of kilograms of cocaine and meth each week were allegedly moving into Canada, and the real punchline is that a CBSA employee is accused of feeding inspection intel to the Dhanda network. The RCMP is merely aware, CBSA is suddenly shy, and Ottawa hides behind ongoing investigation boilerplate while Americans do the heavy lifting. The U.S. indictment reported that Gurtej Singh Smagh, Simba, used border-inspection information to get drugs through from the U.S. into B.C.
This is what a hollowed-out state looks like: mass intake, weak vetting, compromised institutions, and transnational gangs treating Canada like a warehouse with a maple leaf on the door. Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree offers the usual trust us line, as if Trudeau-era border management has been anything but a welcome mat for organized crime. And this is after CBSA officer Daniel Notarianni was already charged in March in another smuggling case. Sovereignty means controlling your border, not outsourcing enforcement to the FBI while pretending everything is under control.
