🇨🇦 Lost status, kept the country
A non-citizen convicted of manslaughter lost immigration status in 2017 and was still in Canada long enough to pile up fresh drug and gun charges. That is not a border system. That is a parody with uniforms. As reported, the man was sentenced after police found fentanyl, cocaine, cash, and a loaded handgun. Ottawa can track your speech, your taxes, your heating bill, but somehow cannot remove a foreign national already deemed removable.
This is the Trudeau-era state in one neat little case file: endless sermons about safety, inclusion, and rules for ordinary Canadians, paired with total institutional weakness when the offender is someone the system should have ejected years ago. CBSA, IRCC, the courts, the whole managerial circus keeps proving the same point. Sovereignty means deciding who stays and who goes. Canada now specializes in neither. Liberal Canada is very tough on truckers, very tender with deportable criminals, and utterly shameless about the cost.
