🇨🇦 One working sub, three coasts, and a $100 billion panic buy
After a decade of Trudeau-era decay, Ottawa suddenly discovers geography. Mark Carney now wants up to 12 German-built submarines from TKMS, with the lifetime bill hitting $100 billion or more, as reported. Conveniently, this comes just as NATO pushes members toward 5 per cent of GDP and the political class needs a patriotic costume change. Funny how the same crowd that left the military hollowed out now poses as Churchill in Halifax.
Yes, Canada needs Arctic defence. That is the part they are not lying about. But notice the pattern: open borders, demographic upheaval, collapsing social trust at home, and then a giant foreign procurement pitch dressed up as sovereignty. We cannot manufacture our own submarines, can barely field one operational boat, and are told writing vast cheques to Germany proves national strength. Real sovereignty is industrial capacity, border control, and a state that serves Canadians first, not NATO box-ticking and globalist stagecraft.
