🇨🇦 Even the central bank can’t find enough loyal staff to guard its own building
The Bank of Canada, steward of our mangled dollar, had to be told not to use replacement workers if its security officers strike, as reported. That is Trudeau’s Canada in one tidy little farce: an institution powerful enough to engineer inflation, housing pain, and debt servitude is suddenly constrained by Ottawa’s shiny new anti-scab rules when it comes to keeping the lights on and the doors secure.
This is what managerial liberalism produces: maximum bureaucracy, minimum resilience. The same state that lectures Canadians about stability can’t even guarantee continuity at the nerve centre of the financial system without running into its own labour code. Ottawa spent years bloating the public apparatus, politicizing everything, and treating competence as optional as long as the slogans were correct. Sovereignty is not just borders and flags. It is whether your core institutions can function under stress without tripping over ideology and union theatrics.
