🇨🇦 Canada exports sons, then imports silence
A 24-year-old Canadian dies fighting in Ukraine, and the follow-up from the civilized West is not clarity, accountability, or even basic competence. It is his father building a private support network because governments and the heroic international apparatus cannot tell families where their dead and missing are. Marc Mazerolle says he is helping around 40 families, while estimates for missing foreign fighters in Ukraine run from 70,000 to 90,000, and 27 Canadians are believed dead, as reported.
This is what globalized crusading looks like in practice: endless moral posturing in Ottawa, endless flags in bios, and Canadian families left begging for scraps of information from a foreign war machine. Our political class always finds money, messaging, and media tears for every overseas cause, but never any duty to the Canadians chewed up by it. National interest used to mean protecting your own people. Under the post-national managerial cult, it means sacrificing them for somebody else’s battlefield and then calling the confusion compassion.
