🇨🇦 A hero buried, while the state buries the bigger story
Montreal just held a funeral for slain officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane, a father of four praised as brave, disciplined, and devoted. Fair enough. But notice the ritual: endless official grief, polished uniforms, soaring speeches, and almost no appetite to confront why Canadian cities keep drifting into imported disorder and chronic public insecurity. Even the reported coverage is all memorial, no diagnosis.
This is late-stage Trudeau Canada in miniature. Governments sermonize about inclusion, equity, and healing circles while frontline cops absorb the consequences of elite policy vanity in real time. The political class loves diversity as an abstraction, right up until another officer is dead and another family is shattered. Then it is all flags, condolences, and sanctimony from the same system that has spent years weakening social cohesion, degrading standards, and pretending public order maintains itself. A sovereign country protects its streets before it polishes its talking points.
