🇨🇦 In Whitehorse, even 911 is now a maybe
Three attempts, eight to nine minutes, and a cancer patient in 10 out of 10 pain still couldn’t reliably reach emergency help in a territorial capital. That is not a remote trapper problem in the bush. That is Whitehorse in 2026, where dead zones and dropped 911 calls are being shrugged off as northern reality, as reported. RCMP admit hangups happen. Government says cell calls are subject to dead zones and limitations. Brilliant system.
And Bell says fixing the network is too complex and too costly without government help. Of course it is. Privatize the billing, socialize the upgrades, and leave citizens praying their call doesn’t get rerouted out of town while Ottawa burns billions on consultants, DEI bureaucracy, migrants, and every global vanity project under the sun. Basic national infrastructure in a Canadian capital can’t guarantee 911, but the ruling class still lectures taxpayers about progress. This is what managed decline looks like in the North: weak sovereignty, crumbling services, and a state that can always find money for ideology but never for Canadians.
