🇨🇦 Canada needs submarines because Ottawa let the fleet rot to one working boat
Only in Trudeau-Carney Canada do you call it the most consequential defence procurement in history after spending years sleepwalking into military decay. The Royal Canadian Navy has four Victoria-class submarines, and as reported, just one is operational. Now Mark Carney is selling a German deal for up to 12 TKMS boats as an economic stimulus package wrapped in a flag, with first delivery by 2034 and four by 2036, barely in time to replace what Ottawa neglected into obsolescence.
The sales pitch is pure regime theater: tens of billions in investment, an alleged $86 billion GDP bump, 100,000 jobs, every region impacted. Convenient. We are told to clap because Berlin might help rebuild Canadian capability that our own ruling class dismantled while preaching post-national nonsense, DEI bureaucracy and endless foreign commitments. Canada should absolutely rearm, but let us be honest about the real scandal: sovereign defence became an emergency only after Liberal incompetence turned a G7 country into a customer begging for basic maritime security.
