🇨🇦 Ottawa can’t even fit its own bureaucracy
The same federal machine lecturing Canadians about efficiency just leased 1,280,223.45 square feet of office space after ordering bureaucrats back four days a week, while admitting some departments still do not have enough desks. That is the level of managerial genius running your tax dollars. Public Services and Procurement says it is merely optimizing space, which is bureaucratese for spend more, plan less. Even its own department cannot meet the mandate, as reported.
Then comes the union theatre. PSAC and PIPSC are fuming about parking, traffic and overcrowding, as if this sprawling state apparatus has ever cared about the commuter misery it imposes on ordinary Canadians. Trudeau-era governance built a bloated remote-friendly bureaucracy, hollowed out downtowns, then tried to reverse it with another top-down edict and no capacity to execute. More office leases, more congestion, more administrative chaos, all to sustain a capital-region paper empire that grows while national productivity stalls.
