🇨🇦 Niagara apologizes for noticing reality
About 1,100 evacuees have been parked in Niagara Falls hotels for six months because Kashechewan’s water system failed and its nursing station was flooded with sewage, and somehow the scandal is that Mayor Jim Diodati and former CAO Ken Todd said the setup is straining police, ERs, paramedics and social services. That was the supposedly offensive part, as reported. In Trudeau’s Canada, describing policy failure is racism, but creating permanent dependency with hotel warehousing is compassion.
Diodati’s original point was obvious: senior governments took a shortcut and dumped a remote community into one tourism city instead of building proper infrastructure or a real temporary facility. He was right the first time. Then came the ritual grovel, anti-racism demands, and public humiliation theatre. This is how the managerial class protects itself: neglect basic services for decades, offload the consequences onto local communities, then criminalize anyone who mentions the cost. Canada keeps paying for elite failure while being told to applaud.
