🇨🇦 $6.4 billion, endless delays, and Ottawa wants applause
The bridge was supposed to open in 2025. It is now July 2026, still delayed, and the federal authority insists the cost is magically frozen at $6.4 billion. Right. In Trudeau-era Canada, everything gets more expensive except government failure. Even Windsor West MP Harb Hill says he does not know what to believe, as reported. Somebody is paying for crews, compliance, and political stalling. The only mystery is which ledger Ottawa plans to hide it in.
This is the Canadian model now: taxpayers front the entire bill, bureaucrats recite fixed price contract like a religious chant, and sovereign infrastructure gets jerked around by U.S. politics and private lobbying. Canada pays first, waits later, then hopes to claw it back through tolls over decades while Michigan eventually shares revenue. Brilliant arrangement if your goal is to subsidize everyone except Canadians. Another monument to elite incompetence dressed up as cross-border partnership.
