🇨🇦 Canadians have 'sense of superiority' over Americans, poll finds
The funniest number here is not 64 per cent saying Canadians are nicer or 82 per cent claiming we are more admired. It is that this country is congratulating itself while admitting the U.S. may offer better opportunity, lower taxes, cheaper food, cheaper houses, and no longer losing the comparison on health care. That is not superiority. That is national self-esteem as a coping mechanism, as reported.
This is what the Trudeau-era political culture produced: a soft, smug anti-Americanism that mistakes moral vanity for strength. Canadians are told they are more humble, more cultured, more admired, while the country gets pricier, weaker, and more dependent. Even the snippet admits wealthier Canadians and Western Canadians tend to admire American entrepreneurship, which tells you exactly where reality still survives. The managerial class sells decline wrapped in superiority, and too many people buy it because feeling better is easier than governing better. Nice branding, collapsing competitiveness.
