🇨🇦 Carney fixed the wrong problem
A year after the grand photo-op, it is still easier for a B.C. winery to sell red in Germany than in Ontario. That is not a market failure. That is Confederation run by bureaucrats, provincial cartels, and Ottawa frauds posing as nation-builders. Mark Carney rushed through the One Canadian Economy Act, bragged about removing federal barriers by July 1, 2026, and then everyone discovered the federal barriers were never the main blockage, as reported.
So after Trudeau-era centralization, taxes, regulation, and endless lectures about resilience, Canada still cannot manage basic internal free trade despite the Constitution saying goods should be admitted free across provinces. We are told to fear foreign tariffs, but our own political class protects liquor monopolies, licensing fiefdoms, and provincial gatekeepers like sacred cows. This is the liberal-globalist template in one neat package: preach sovereignty, outsource competence, and leave Canadians less free in their own country than in foreign markets.
