🇨🇦 Another northern town evacuated while Ottawa plays climate theatre
Fort Simpson is being evacuated again as wildfire closes in, and the ruling class will use it for the usual sermon while ignoring the obvious: Canada cannot govern a country this vast on press releases, DEI staffing, and carbon taxes. The territory ordered residents out as the fire threatened the community, reported, but where has the serious national capacity been while Ottawa burns cash on consultants, asylum hotels, and global virtue campaigns.
This is what Trudeau-era decline looks like in real time. Northern communities get evacuation notices, fragile infrastructure, and a federal government more obsessed with climate branding than hardening roads, air support, forest management, and local resilience. Sovereignty is not a slogan you recite at summits. It means actually being able to protect and sustain remote Canadian communities when things go bad. Instead, Canadians get managerial incompetence wrapped in moral preening, and the North keeps paying the price.
