🇨🇦 B.C. now throws red carpets for doctors because Ottawa broke the country
Sharpest part of this story: a town of 10,000 in northern B.C. is celebrating four incoming doctors as if it discovered penicillin. That is where Canada is after decades of federal bloat, mass intake, and provincial mismanagement. Quesnel had to build a concierge service for physicians, complete with mayoral lunches, spouse coffee clubs, fishing trips and curated tours, as reported. Two U.S.-trained doctors arrived, two more are coming, and the system wants applause for patching a self-inflicted wound with tourism marketing.
This is the Trudeau-era formula in miniature: import more demand than infrastructure can absorb, then pretend emergency recruitment is visionary policy. B.C. is even pitching overseas permanent residency candidates while rural Canadians struggle to get a family doctor. The state can fast-track narratives, consultants and DEI bureaucracy, but somehow not enough domestic medical training or sane workforce planning. Sovereign countries build capacity for their own people. Managerial Canada curates mountain biking weekends and calls it health-care reform.
