🇨🇦 Carney sells sovereignty at Davos, then lectures about sovereignty
The absurdity is almost elegant: Mark Carney goes to Davos, the annual cathedral of unelected global management, to warn that middle powers must stop hoping compliance will buy safety. Right idea, wrong messenger. This is the same elite class that spent years training Canada to comply with every transnational fad on carbon, migration, DEI and bureaucratic rule by expert panel. As reported, Carney delivered hard truths about a collapsing world order while standing in the middle of the machine that helped hollow ours out.
Canada does not have a middle-power gap. It has a leadership gap. A sovereignty gap. A courage gap. You cannot rebuild national independence with the people who outsourced policy to global forums, crippled energy, flooded the country with population growth we cannot house, and called every objection backward. Carney talks tough about superpowers and compliance, but the Trudeau-Carney worldview has been one long exercise in managed decline dressed up as enlightened internationalism. Canada needs fewer Davos sermons and more Canadian self-respect.
