🇨🇦 Albertans least likely to put province ahead of Canada, poll finds
The supposed hotbed of separatism is now the least provincial in the country. That is the punchline in this poll, and it tells you plenty about how distorted the national conversation has become. Alberta gets endlessly scolded as the problem child while B.C. jumps to 66 per cent province-first, Quebec sits at 60 per cent, and Alberta drops to 34 per cent, as reported. So much for the media fantasy that every grievance west of Ottawa is some raging breakaway fever dream.
What this really shows is that Albertans are still carrying Canada on their back while being punished for it. They are more attached to the country than regions that receive kid-glove treatment from the same class that sneers at Alberta values. And yes, the youngest are far less proud to be Canadian than older cohorts. That is what decades of elite deconstruction, DEI catechism, and managed national self-loathing buy you. A country held together by Alberta’s loyalty while the political class keeps hollowing out the nation is not stability. It is denial with a flag on top.
