🇨🇦 One in four Canadians aren't confident that Canada will still be a country in 50 years
The funniest part is not the panic headline. It’s that 84 per cent say they’re proud, while a full one in four either think Canada may not survive as it is or aren’t sure. That is not confidence. That is branding. A flag on the porch while the foundation cracks underneath. Even the poll admits younger Canadians are the least proud, with housing and economic frustration dragging sentiment down. Shocking stuff: people tend to love their country less when their rulers make it unaffordable.
And of course Liberal voters are the most confident, because nothing says secure future like pretending Confederation still works while Western alienation keeps growing and Alberta heads toward a referendum. The same class that sermonizes about unity has spent years hollowing out trust, regional balance, and national cohesion in the name of managed decline and elite consensus. If 58 per cent of Conservatives are confident versus 91 per cent of Liberals, that gap is not extremism. It is simply who still notices the damage.
