🇨🇦 After unleashing chaos, the Liberals want a law-and-order costume
The same party that spent years loosening bail, cutting penalties and sermonizing about root causes now claims it is the party of law and order. Right. Mark Carney’s Liberals pushed roughly 80 Criminal Code changes in a year, restored some mandatory minimums, tightened bail and even backed Bailey’s Law, as reported. Translation: they finally noticed crime is a political liability in vote-rich suburbs after Trudeau-era softness helped turn public safety into another failed social experiment.
The punchline is Steven MacKinnon calling Conservatives conspiracy theorists while Ottawa slips in new lawful-access powers forcing internet companies to retain user metadata. So the Liberals want credit for fixing the mess they made, plus extra surveillance powers for the same state that can’t control repeat violent offenders. Classic globalist governance: permissive with criminals, invasive with citizens, and shameless when the polls turn. This is not principle. It is panic management dressed up as leadership.
