π¨π¦ Canada can build a million-barrel pipeline, but only after begging Ottawa
Here is the absurdity: Alberta says a one million barrel per day pipeline to the West Coast is on track for a July 1 filing, yet nobody can say if producers will even sign on or if the thing is commercially viable, as reported. That is modern Canada in one sentence: resource wealth trapped inside a permit maze run by federal clerks, activist vetoes, tanker bans, and performative consultation rituals.
And the price of even getting Ottawa to look at it is peak Trudeau-era lunacy that Carney clearly has no intention of burying: Alberta had to swallow an industrial carbon tax rising to $130 a tonne by 2040. So to export the energy that funds the country, the province must first kneel before the climate priesthood and promise more self-sabotage. Meanwhile B.C. politicians posture, industry hesitates, and Ottawa pretends this is how a sovereign energy power behaves. A serious country builds pipelines. This one negotiates decline and calls it progress.
