Nothing says respect for Alberta like parachuting 37 to 45 Liberal MPs into Calgary for ten days of cosplay while an Oct. 19 separation referendum looms. After years of anti-energy sabotage, Ottawa suddenly discovers cowboy hats, pancake breakfasts, and a pipeline MOU timed neatly around Stampede week, as reported. Mark Carney is sending the same machine that gave us Trudeau-era alienation, just repackaged with Bay Street polish and Alberta roots PR.

The cast list tells the joke. Marc Miller and Sean Fraser may show up, Lena Diab might, Champagne maybe, and the PMO has even hired an Alberta handler, because apparently a province of 4.8 million now needs federal emotional management. Corey Hogan brags this is an evolved Liberal Party. Right, evolved from ignoring the West to staging a retail charm offensive before a unity crisis. If Ottawa cared about sovereignty, prosperity, or national cohesion, it would stop governing Alberta like a colony and start treating energy producers like citizens instead of ATMs.
