🇨🇦 Former child soldier deported for 'serious criminality' managed to sneak back into Canada
The sharpest part is not that Ibrahim Jalloh came back. It is that a man ordered removed in June 2012 for serious criminality was only deported on Dec. 29, 2023, then somehow re-entered through Vancouver and was found in Calgary by Dec. 31, 2025. That is not compassion. That is a border regime so unserious it borders on self-parody. As reported, this was not an administrative mix-up. He was a convicted fraudster, drug trafficker, and repeat offender with more than two dozen convictions for failing to comply with court orders.
The judge said it plainly: he entered illegally, surreptitiously, and hid once he arrived. Yet after a decade of stalling, Canada still acts shocked when deportation orders mean nothing and ports mean less. This is what post-national governance looks like in practice: endless excuses for the offender, endless exposure for the country, and ordinary Canadians told to pretend enforcement is cruel. A sovereign nation that cannot remove criminals and keep them out is not governed. It is being managed into decline.
