🇨🇦 Lawyers for the Cowichan argue case should not be reopened to consider private property rights
Sharp enough for anyone still pretending this is about balance: private landowners allegedly have no place even participating when an Aboriginal title case could collide with private property rights. That is not justice, that is managed exclusion. As reported, the argument before the B.C. Supreme Court is that landowners should effectively sit down, shut up, and watch the experts redraw the rules around ownership.
This is the Trudeau-era template in miniature: sovereignty diluted, property treated as conditional, and ordinary Canadians told their stake in the country is somehow less legitimate than whatever elite-approved framework is currently in fashion. If your home, land, or legal rights can be discussed in court while you are treated as an inconvenience, then ownership is no longer a right but a revocable privilege. The progressive legal class keeps calling this reconciliation. What it looks like is another step toward a Canada where citizens pay the taxes, follow the rules, and still get told they have no standing in their own country.
