🇨🇦 Canada less worried about separatism while Ottawa keeps manufacturing reasons for it
The funniest number here is not 26 per cent worried about Alberta separation or 18 per cent about Quebec. It is that after years of Ottawa siphoning wealth, smothering energy, and centralizing power, the managerial class is surprised people are merely less panicked, not more loyal. The poll reported 52 per cent still say Alberta separation should be taken very seriously, including 63 per cent inside Alberta itself. That is not national unity. That is a warning label.
The regime reads cooling fear as stability. Wrong. It is fatigue. Canadians have watched Trudeau-era federalism become a transfer machine, a censorship hobby, and a sovereignty liquidation project wrapped in nice slogans. Alberta gets court-blocked, lectured, and milked; Quebec gets handled with the usual constitutional delicacy. People are not calmer because Ottawa fixed anything. They are calmer because they have seen this circus before and know the ruling class will kick the can until the next rupture. A country that punishes producers and flatters bureaucrats should not act shocked when attachment starts looking optional.
