The real joke is that every level of government keeps centralizing more data, building bigger digital files on citizens, and treating privacy as a decorative value until insiders abuse access. Then the same class that worships administrative expansion demands applause for inventing another watchdog. More databases, more interagency sharing, more mission creep, more trust us. Canadians are told to fear ordinary citizens saying the wrong thing online, but not the sprawling state apparatus vacuuming up personal information with predictable leaks and abuse.
