🇨🇦 37,000 insolvencies and the regime still calls this recovery
More than 37,000 Canadians filed for insolvency in just the first quarter of 2026, the worst consumer debt wave since 2009, as reported. And what’s the approved narrative? Not that Ottawa spent a decade inflating housing, debasing wages with mass immigration, and torching purchasing power with endless ideological spending. No, apparently the problem is your relationship with money. Very convenient. Trudeau-era economics created a country where a retail worker in Toronto can make $50,000, carry $30,000 in credit-card debt, and still be told to budget harder while rent, food, gas and interest rates keep climbing.
This is what managed decline looks like in Canada: cheap-credit dependency, permanent cost-of-living pressure, and a political class that imports more demand into an already broken housing and labour market. Then the experts arrive to offer a fireside chat with your creditors, as if national insolvency is a self-help issue. Canada does not have a budgeting crisis. It has a sovereignty crisis run by globalist mediocrities and paid for by the middle class.
