🇨🇦 Outspoken Navy Chief Promoted Just as Military Crumbles

Vice-Admiral Angus Topshee, who openly warned in 2023 that the Navy was in a critical state and risked failing its readiness commitments, has been promoted to Vice Chief of Defence Staff. The reward for admitting catastrophic failure under Liberal watch: a bigger office. Topshee talked about weaponizing remote-controlled vessels and corvette procurement while his branch couldn't meet basic force posture requirements. Now he gets to oversee the entire hollowed-out Armed Forces.

This is Ottawa's version of accountability—promote the guy who confirmed the rot, shuffle him upstairs, and pretend competence exists somewhere in the chain of command. The Navy is broken, recruitment is a disaster, and our sovereignty is a punchline. But at least Topshee speaks English and doesn't recite DEI talking points, so by Trudeau-era standards he's basically Patton.
