🇨🇦 Even the Psychiatrists Are Begging Ottawa to Stop

Thirteen psychiatry chairs from Canadian medical schools have written to Parliament begging them not to expand state-assisted suicide to the mentally ill. Their concerns: no way to determine if mental illness is incurable, no way to distinguish a MAID request from suicidal ideation, no way to protect the vulnerable. In other words, the people who actually treat mental disorders are screaming that this is a death sentence dressed as compassion. But when has expertise ever stopped a Liberal agenda bent on cost savings and ideological purity.

This is what happens when healthcare becomes a spreadsheet and suffering Canadians become line items. Instead of funding treatment, housing, and recovery, Ottawa would rather offer a lethal injection and call it dignity. The psychiatrists know people recover from depression, anxiety, schizophrenia when given proper care. The government knows it too — they just don't want to pay for it.
