🇨🇦 Carney talked sovereignty in Davos, then blessed an illegal war two months later
In January, our former Goldman Sachs PM gave a speech at the World Economic Forum about values-based realism and respect for the UN Charter. By February, when the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran, Carney stated Canada supports preventing Iran from obtaining nukes — no mention of international law, no reference to his Davos principles. Even his own Liberal MPs turned on him, reminding him of his sovereignty sermon. Lloyd Axworthy pointed out Chrétien had the spine to oppose Iraq.
This is what globalist realism actually looks like: lofty speeches at Davos for the WEF crowd, then falling in line when Washington calls. Carney spent more days abroad than Trudeau did in year one, jet-setting between summits while Canada's interests get auctioned off to the highest bidder. Sovereignty theatre with a banker's smile.
