🇨🇦 Carney Opens Canada's Auto Market To Beijing — Then Pretends To Care About Affordability
Fuel hits $1.70 per litre nationally — up from $1.29 a year ago — and the federal response is to flood Canada with Chinese EVs starting at $41,748 minimum, dropping to theoretically cheaper models nobody is legally required to sell until 2027 at the earliest. In January, Carney personally negotiated a deal cutting tariffs on Chinese EVs from 100% down to 6%, letting BYD — the company that dethroned Tesla globally — plant 20 dealerships across Canada this year. Ontario Premier Doug Ford called it correctly: China now has a permanent foothold in the Canadian market.
This is the globalist playbook executed in plain sight. Squeeze Canadians at the pump, destroy domestic auto jobs, then offer them a Chinese-manufactured alternative subsidized by their own tax dollars through the EVAP rebate program. Canadian workers get the bill. Beijing gets the market. Carney gets the applause from Davos.
