🇨🇦 Liberals Celebrating Their Own Survival While Canada Burns Through an Energy Crisis
The Liberal Party held its national convention in Montreal this weekend and, according to state-funded CBC, the big story is that the party still exists — framed breathlessly as a kind of miracle comeback. Carney's Liberals are apparently so pleased with their own political resurrection that a convention was warranted while jet fuel is being rationed globally, housing is structurally broken, and a New Brunswick judge is rewriting criminal sentences to protect foreign nationals from deportation.
This is what the Liberal Party does instead of governing: it holds conventions, celebrates its own persistence, and lets CBC write the hagiography. The party that spent a decade hollowing out Canada's energy capacity, flooding the housing market through mass immigration, and embedding DEI ideology into every federal institution now wants credit for not dying. Low bar. The country they mismanaged is still paying the bill, and the convention crowd in Montreal couldn't be less interested in that detail.
