π¨π¦ 30,000 Asylum Claimants Told to Pack Up β Years Too Late
Canada's Immigration Department is now informing roughly 30,000 refugee claimants they may be ineligible for hearings β and telling some to leave immediately. This comes after years of Trudeau-era policy that treated the border as a suggestion and the asylum system as a welcome mat. Thirty thousand people. Letters. Maybe leave. That's the system working, apparently.
The Carney Liberals inherited this catastrophe and are now quietly trying to manage the overflow while pretending the intake pipeline wasn't deliberately blown wide open. There is no accountability for the officials who waved these claimants through, no reckoning for the policy architects, and no honest conversation about how many of those 30,000 have already embedded into communities, collected benefits, and disappeared into the backlog. A letter is not a deportation. Canada has a long, embarrassing history of confusing the two.
