🛑 Samuel Luckhurst:

Behind the scenes, Jason Wilcox is not afraid of confrontation. One well-informed source described his behaviour during the infamous January meeting with Ruben Amorim as “out of line” — a meeting that ultimately contributed to the Portuguese coach’s departure. Another source described it as “awful.”

Sources at Manchester United insist that Wilcox was entitled to question Amorim and describe him as the manager’s “biggest supporter.” However, Amorim was reportedly angered by Wilcox referring to himself as the “manager” in front of staff at Carrington.

Some agents sympathise with Wilcox, while others describe him as “stubborn and self-centred.” Few at Southampton were reportedly saddened by his departure after just 15 months.
