At the Malka Children Development Center, we always share feedback with parents about how their child's day went. This feedback is meant to support a continued valuable communication at home.
🔹 It's effective to shift the focus from a simple evaluation of a child's day, to co-experiencing emotions together. The right question helps you hear the answers, and also see the world through the children's eyes and share their experiences.
🙋♀️ To prevent the conversation from being reduced to "fine" or "okay," we've gathered questions to help you gently open up a dialogue:
• "What made you happiest today?"
• "Who was especially interesting to play with? And why?"
• "What new thing did you try today?"
• "Was there a moment when you felt proud of yourself?"
• "What else would you like to tell me about?"
