Advice for mothers: put down the social media in the early days and weeks. Put down the mommy help books. Take deep breaths. Bond with your baby. Your husband’s role is to bring you food and water in bed and play with the other children- not pretend to be a second mom because you’ve driven yourself insane tracking everything your baby does. It’ll be okay. We’ve done this since the dawn of time.
“baby project manager, track feedings, naps, and poops”
Assuming your baby has no serious health issues you don’t need to do any of this. Most of the stress of modern motherhood is pure, unadulterated neuroticism and then a result of jealousy when men “don’t seem stressed” about things that aren’t even necessary.
32 this week. Hag mode. Seasoned mother mode. Herbalist mode. Baking from scratch mode. Done being nice to anyone who openly hates us mode. You can just do things.
A large amount of older folks and leftoids of all ages are completely unprepared for the growing number of us who are completely immune to shaming with -ists. The gaslighting is over. We’re just getting started.
A reminder that if you cannot stand up for yourself when attacked and ostracized for loving your own people - you are doing a huge disservice to your own children or future children. Do not repeat the behavior that reinforces attacks against us. Fight it like hell, your children current or future deserve that as a bare minimum.
A local cosplayer made a post condemning my racism, proudly saying they “got me banned from the local conventions after wearing a Trump hat last election.” What’s curious is in this post also mentioned fantasy ball events I was helping out with on social media for a local woman free of charge btw (her first event sold out), which seemed odd.
I went to a photoshoot about six months ago and one of the cosplayers who was there had me blocked when we went to swap Instagram handles. I assumed she recognized me from the posts about the Trump hat so it was fine. We both feigned ignorance.
I messaged the mom who is in the fantasy ball scene who ran the event and who I had done some social media work for who has barely talked to me the past four months and claimed it was because she’s busy with homeschooling (something I encouraged her to do) and she admitted months ago the photographer at that event said the cosplayer was telling everyone about me.
This woman said nothing about being told I was “dangerous” until I approached her last week about it and is now suddenly posting anti-ICE stuff on her social media. This is why I vet who gets invited to our home carefully. Be careful out there!
