پروژه اول :

Potential title: Overlapping temporal aggregation
The aim of this project is to develop an innovative methodologies to improve forecast accuracy that uses a data transformation approach called overlapping temporal aggregation. The study will first use empirical data with different time granularity , i.e. hourly, daily and monthly and quarterly to show the performance of the approach. Following that, we aim at using extreme value theory to demonstrate the theoretical foundation of the approach.
*Data and R code to run the empirical evaluation will be provided by Bahman Rostami-Tabar.

پروژه دوم :
 
Potential title: Machine learning in forecasting demand of healthcare services
This project aims at evaluating the effectiveness of machine learning approaches in forecasting demand of various services in the healthcare such as : Emergency services, Ambulance service, blood supply chain service and cosmetic surgery service.
The forecasting will be performed at daily, weekly and monthly levels. This is going to be an empirical study.
 
*Data for all services will be provided by Bahman Rostami-Tabar
* These datasets are valuable and there would be potentially more projects coming up using them, if interested.

پروژه سوم:

Potential title:  Forecastability in time series forecasting
 
In this project we are looking for universal rules to determine forecastability. The study aims at demonstrating the forecastability of different phenomenon and establish rules when forecasting is possible, determine links between forecast accuracy and forecastability and when we should not bother with forecasting. We aim at evaluating time series from various domains such as disasters (e.g. natural, technological and complex), finance, economy, health, retail industry, etc. We look at a range of type of distributions illustrated in the figure below and link them to accuracy.
